Mel Gibson Takes A Plea Deal In Exchange For No Jail Time

Actor Mel Gibson has accepted a plea deal in his domestic violence case in order to avoid a battle in court and jail time.

Mel will plead no contest in court on Friday to a charge of misdemeanor battery of his ex-girlfriend and mother of his daughter, Oksana Grigorieva. Most likely he'll serve probation or have to complete some counseling time. In other words, he'll get a tiny slap on the wrist.

The battle between Mel & Oksana has been rough the last couple of months. Oksana claims that Mel punched her in the head and face on more than on occasion in January 2010 at Mel's Malibu home. Mel Gibson later admitted to slapping her in order to restrain her from shaking their daughter, Lucia while they were arguing.

Later Mel claimed that Oksana was trying to extort him for millions of dollars.

See...messy.
